Holly's Bridal Shower

My wedding season isn't even close to being over. With five weddings down already this year, I still have another two just in 2013!

This past Sunday I had the honor of attending a cute bridal shower for a dear friend, Holly. The bridesmaids did such a super job of decorating and thinking of little details, so I just had to share some snapshots with you!

Paige, the MOH, made the corsage herself using fresh flowers from Trader Joe's and one of our favorite crafting accessories: twine!
Decorative touches!
Mason jars with twine, tags, & striped paper straws--my personal favorite detail!
It was truly a Southern affair.
Holly with the toilet paper brides--so...interesting!
The winning team! (Sorry, am I gloating here?! Ours was totally Great Gatsby inspired!)

Black and White

Hello, little ladybug on my shoulder!
Sunnies from a BHI boutique (Ray-Bans) // Francesca's Collections necklace (fierce option) // New York & Co Blouse (pretty option) // Francesca's Collections Trsouers (similar) // Pumps (similar)

Monday morning called for the least amount of thinking possible. So I threw on some basics and was instantly transformed from drained and frumpy to chic and office-ready!

Do you have a Monday morning go-to work outfit?

Wine and Design

A couple weeks ago my oldest sister Melinda, her daughter (my sweet twin!) Victoria, and their family friend Danielle took the long roadtrip from upstate NY to visit us down here in the heart of North Carolina!

Wedding: Catherine & Andrew

This month I had the extreme honor of working with Kerri Bumgardner of A-List Events at a sunset-inspired wedding! The ceremony and reception were both held at Magnolia Manor, a surprisingly new build with exceptional Southern charm.

Statement Earrings

As I mentioned here, the girls and I enjoyed an impromptu trip to the BaubleBar popup in NYC's SoHo last month, and it was too cute! I was so tempted to purchase the pair of Opal Galactic Drop earrings I had been eyeing, but reason got the best of me. My mom just handed down a pair of gorgeous vintage costume jewelry stunners from my grandmother (granny, really) that she converted from clip-ons. They are to die for, and I just couldn't justify a statement earring purchase right then.

With that said, I have still been thinking about those little gems, and may need to just splurge for them!

Here are just a few of statement earrings catching my fancy lately:

Reliving NYC

I put together a little collage of some of my favorite New York moments. I held back from blowing up your Instagram feed while on vaca, and saved most of my photos for a few blog posts (here, here, here, and here, plus this one too). Here are a few of the extras that I just had to share with you all! Enjoy!

Embellished Military Jacket

I have had my eye on the military-inspired utility jacket for a while now, but was waiting for just the right one. When I spotted this one I was beyond excited--like the kind of excited where you accidentally (sort of) knock over another shopper or two to grab it before some else does! Not only did it have fun, chunky rhinestones on the shoulders, but it was on clearance at H&M during an awesome sale with an additional 50% off. It was practically free. And I am obsessed!

I cannot wait to style this little number with leopard print, over easy sundresses, and with even more pops of metallic [what I really mean is GOLD]!

The Jersey Shore

I survived. The besties and I spent a sunny Saturday afternoon on the Jersey Shore at Longbranch Beach. It was no Seaside Heights and I certainly did not see the cast of Jersey Shore, but I was definitely part of the minority with my blonde hair and fair skin!

The beach was so crowded--very different than the sweet, Southern beach that I grew up on. Newsflash: you also had to pay to go on the beach. I am not talking parking. I mean you literally had to pay to go on the beach. I had never heard of such a thing..

Wednesday Pick-Me-Up

Today's pick-me-up is inspired by the ever-fashionable (and newly engaged--congrats, girl!) Devon Rachel via her Glitter Guide feature!

Utmost girl power--I want this quote displayed everywhere. In my car, in the caps of my lipsticks, on the vegetable drawer in the fridge (versus the roll of chocolate chip cookie dough), and, of course, in my office.

NYC Favorites

As you know, I just got back from a long weekend up in New Jersey and New York City with two of my best girlfriends. For weeks and weeks before our trip I was mapping out and planning this special daytrip. It was my second time in the city and I wanted to make the absolute best of it. Turns out, we mostly ate our way through Manhattan.

Here are some of my favorites!

Hiking in Jersey

So on our first full day up North, Alana took Paige and I to hike by the Delaware Water Gap. I was all for it dreaming of gorgeous views, swimming in natural waterfalls, and a little bit of a workout. Then real life happened. But it was certainly a lot of fun despite having five ticks on me (only me--none on Alana and Paige), seeing a black bear (slightly more terrifying than thrilling for me), and hiking around 7 miles and never finding the waterfalls. It made for some hilarious memories--especially when we asked for directions from these two precious older gentlemen and took our countless little Oreo breaks.
